Position Summary: 

The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is seeking a Digital Designer/Developer who will work closely with our Digital team to create and produce interactive materials that drive engagement and conversion. The Digital Designer/Developer will be responsible for creating and managing assets and web properties that exemplify and enhance the NDWA suite of brands while effectively communicating our unique value proposition. 

The Digital Designer/Developer creates the look, layout, and features of digital content — from websites to ad landing pages and email campaigns — and executes designs with optimal coding. The role involves understanding of graphic design, UI/UX design, responsive/mobile designs and front-end coding. The Designer is expected to apply best design principles, UI/UX practices and current trends to their work.

Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with Digital team to develop supporter journeys for new leads and existing supporters with a focus on converting website visitors to leads and online donors
  • Test, experiment, and optimize the entire supporter conversion funnel based on quantitative and qualitative testing including landing pages and all website pages
  • Work closely with the technology team to deploy the development of digital assets
  • Create, design, and develop digital assets to support interactive campaigns including email blasts, landing pages, and other digital projects
  • Create and support our web properties, including site design and development, maintenance and troubleshooting, content updates and optimization
  • Develop concepts, graphics, and layouts for NDWA websites and microsites
  • Design templates for emails, landing pages, and other communications within our marketing platforms
  • Work with team members, brief and advise them with regard to proposal style, format, production, and timelines
  • Manage and complete projects within tight deadlines. Ensure brand continuity in visual messaging across all NDWA web properties.
  • Track and analyze the performance of all NDWA web properties in Google Analytics and Data Studio to guide conversion rate optimization for key landing pages
  • Work with the Digital Advertising Specialist on design optimizations for ad landing pages
  • Design a structured experimentation process that allows us to optimize NDWA web properties and share those insights with other NDWA teams
  • Develop and update web documentation and style guides, maintain site appearance, and enforce content and display standards
  • Ensure website content and designs comply with legal regulations regarding privacy, sharing of data and accessibility
Job Requirements: 
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Visual/Web/UX Design, or similar or have design experience with an agency or client-side creative team
  • You have at least 3-5 years of related job experience, agency or client-side
  • You have experience designing digital templates for email and landing pages
  • You are proficient in standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc.
  • You have demonstrated experience with and a high-level understanding of HTML, CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, and Javascript
  • You have proficiency with interactive UX web design, responsive design, and prototyping
  • You have experience with Wordpress content administration and page/post creation and have the ability to create, edit, update Wordpress themes and plugins
  • You have an excellent understanding of web and mobile standards, including responsive design and usability
  • You have experience tracking and analyzing website data with Google Analytics
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • You are able to present to audiences on subjects of web design, UI/UX and current online best practices
  • You can effectively collaborate across teams to define projects, propose concepts, gather feedback, and implement solutions    
  • You are able to effectively create and utilize information from user flows, personas, experience maps, and usability testing during the design process
  • You must be innovative and a problem solver
  • Willingness to work in a start-up style environment on multiple projects with quick deadlines
  • Ability to generate a high-quality product quickly and to function effectively under pressure
  • A portfolio of previous work must be presented during the interview process
