NDWA Labs is seeking talented writers with journalism experience to write news articles on a part-time contractor basis.
NDWA Labs is the innovation arm of the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA). Founded in 2015, NDWA Labs was launched to experiment with new strategies for improving marketplace norms for domestic workers, including launching sustainable ventures and collaborating with the private sector. Our approach is to innovate on old solutions, build smart and practical tools and products, and form partnerships that help us reach and lift standards for domestic workers. In particular, NDWA Labs has been experimenting with ways to use technology to ensure we are shaping a future of work that works for all of us, not just some of us.
NDWA is the nation’s leading voice for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are women. Founded in 2007, NDWA works for the respect, recognition and inclusion in labor protections for domestic workers.
La Alianza is a digital news service for domestic workers and immigrant communities, created by the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and provides Spanish-language stories to 200K+ subscribers.
About the Position
NDWA Labs is seeking part-time News Writers to work remotely in creating original news stories. As a News Writer, you will be responsible for pitching, researching, and writing original content in the form of news articles about current events.
Compensation
This is a part-time, 2-month contract role with the potential to renew. The following rates apply:
● $.40/word: Pitching, researching, writing, and editing 5-15 original news articles per week with a journalistic tone and style (with open-source images included in each article)
● $30 per hour: Completing other writing projects
● $30 per hour: Participating in pre-arranged phone or video meetings each week
