Position Summary:

NDWA Labs is the innovation arm of the National Domestic Workers Alliance. Our Spanish-language news organization and chatbot currently serves more than 200K cleaners, nannies and home care workers. We are looking for a Product Operations Manager to grow the chatbots program in scope and impact.

About Us:  Work for nannies, caregivers and housecleaners – domestic workers – is growing faster than most any other sector in the US economy, and yet domestic workers remain among the most vulnerable. NDWA Labs strives to make work better for domestic workers: Fairer. Dignified. Sustainable. Our chatbot program has emerged as an exciting solution to the problem of disaggregation and isolation in our workforce. In 2020 we will use what we’ve learned so far as a springboard to expand our audience, deepen their connection with NDWA, and rigorously test the chatbot’s power to bring workers transformative information, services and tools.

About You: You’re a multi-talented product manager who wants to roll up their sleeves to build something great. You want to craft transformational experiences for workers that drive progressive change outcomes. You are willing to build in a hands-on way, not only designing experiments but executing them in our chatbot platform, and talking directly with users. You have the cultural knowledge and native/bilingual Spanish language skills our small team will need to ship quickly and learn deeply. You are excited to work in a vibrant, women of color-led start-up and social movement environment.

The Role: You will manage product operations for a chatbot that is the central offering in a digital media platform that also includes a news website, facebook page and facebook groups (all in Spanish) and may expand to include other channels and languages. This position is currently funded for one year by a significant philanthropic investment and is likely to continue given successful outcomes.

  • Design and execute experiments from start to finish using a lean methodology
  • Responsible for some content creation as well as technical execution in our chatbot platform

    • Services offered by nonprofits such as financial counseling, English language lessons, skills training, tax assistance
    • Original training and business information offered inside the chatbot
    • Online community experiences
    • Worker organization membership
    • Other valued resources and services
  • Continually refine user experience and conversion funnel to meet acquisition and engagement goals
  • Analyze and draw insights from experiment results and make substantial contributions to regular internal and external learnings reports and working groups
  • In addition, you will be responsible for:
    • Contributing to the maintenance and optimization of our technical platforms
    • Data collection and analysis for internal dashboards and external funder reporting
    • Contributing to opportunity-specific team and cross-team projects (e.g. a digital membership drive launched at a national worker assembly)
    • Recruiting and supervising consultants as needed
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience building a digital product in a product manager role
  • Highly proficient at designing digital media A/B tests and doing rigorous data analysis
